A visit to Hanne Christensen's East Road studio provides a spectacular
view of Lambert Channel and the pleasure of perusing a full spectrum of
lovely functional wares made the traditional way on a silent kick wheel
(self-powered, without electricity). European style tea-pots, butter
dishes, bowls, dinner plates, jugs, and kitchen containers for every
need come in shades of forest green, nite sky blue and multi-cored
glaze. Christensen's trademark pussy willow pattern also adorns vases,
casserole dishes, hanging planters and smaller items like soap dishes
and lotion dispensers. So many handy, innovative items - one recent
addition is a lovely ceramic bowl perforated for both dispensing and
containing knitting yarn. Collanders designed to serve grapes at the
table are yet another novel gift idea!
